Strategy
There are three phases to our church planting strategy.
PHASE ONE: PRE-LAUNCH (NOW THROUGH 09/09/2012)
- Fundraising – In order to focus on relationships with unchurched people, it is important to complete all fundraising prior to launch Sunday. Each staff member will be required to raise funds through church planting networks, churches and family and friends.
- Team Development – We will hire/train staff and develop launch team members during the pre-launch phase. We are visiting Richmond once a month through the end of the year to meet with people who are interested in joining our team. Matt and Carrie will move on site in January 2012. We will start our groups in February and preview services will begin in the summer.
- Community Involvement – We want to have a presence in the community so we will conduct outreach/service projects.
- Facilities Set-Up – We will have a location for gatherings and will purchase all needed equipment and supplies prior to launch Sunday.
PHASE TWO: LAUNCH SUNDAY (09-16-2012)
This will be our first “official” Sunday gathering. We will use community events and groups to engage our team into relationships with unchurched people in our greater community. We anticipate those from our launch team and those we have interacted with from the community to attend this first week. We will have our Children’s Ministry launched and will be encouraging people to join our Groups. We will have mission teams from various churches help in our volunteer areas.
PHASE THREE: POST LAUNCH (through 01-01-2015)
Our priority will continue to be to reach the unchurched people of Wayne County. Our strategy will include components of outreach, discipleship and leadership development. We also want to become financially independent and self-supporting while developing internal leadership to be self-governing.
